VIRTUS

With our longstanding commitment in mind, all parishes and archdiocesan Catholic Schools use VIRTUS, a compliance management system that allows all parishes and schools to facilitate compliance with archdiocesan child protection requirements for all volunteers who work with minors.

All those who wish to work or volunteer in our school must be appropriately screened and trained and provide three references.  Registration for volunteers age 18 and over is through VIRTUS.  VIRTUS is available online at virtusonline.org.  Within the registration screen, you will be asked to select a “Primary Location”.  Select Resurrection-St. Paul School.  You will also be asked to select a “Role”.  Please select “Volunteer with Substantial Contact with Children”. You will be asked for a title or function, select “parent volunteer.”   Please follow the prompts to complete your registration and criminal background check, which will include three references, and the training, “Protecting God’s Children Online Awareness Session 3.2 – Baltimore.

Your VIRTUS certification is good for 5 years.  At the end of that period you will be given the opportunity to complete a renewal process and receive an updated blue card.

When volunteering for a school function you must wear your blue VIRTUS card.  In addition, all field trip chaperones must be VIRTUS certified before signing up.

Volunteers age 14 – 17 working with children and youth, must complete Worthy of The Call Training and screening.  This training and screening is coordinated through Church of the Resurrection.  The volunteer must do the following:
